STEVE LEWIS ART

I started using found objects and materials for making mixed-media paintings. During this time period I made use of discarded materials found in urban areas and used them to create art that would be exhibited in interior display areas or outside near the urban areas where the materials were found. The influence of stencilled street art was apparent in a series of paintings on paper. Stencils of body parts, insects, and personal snapshots of friends were used to render a copy of famous figurative sculptures.
